Vegan Mama + ESJ Magazine Editor: Inside Katie Pruett's (Ethical) Handbag

We recently interviewed Katie Pruett about her magazine Ethical Style Journal, which celebrates ethical and sustainable fashion, and inspires readers to shop more consciously. (Read the interview here).

We love discovering what conscious fashionistas from around the world carry in their handbags, so today we will be taking a peak into Katie's daily life.

When Katie is not editing her fabulous magazine, she is hanging out with her gorgeous family in San Antonio, Texas (which includes her partner Jason, and her adorable toddler Cas). Actually upon reflection, Katie is also hanging out with them whilst working on ESJ, as Jason is part of the team as the magazine's managing editor.

You can follow Katie's mom and tot adventures over on her instagram @katielovescas. (Just be prepared for mega cuteness)..

OVER TO YOU Katie..

Katie Pruett:
What's in my Ethical Handbag?

"This is literally what I had in my bag, minus my I.D. and bank cards, at the time I took the photo. Ha! I always keep a snack and this vegan, dark chocolate protein bar is to die for.

Keepin' it minimal

Right now, I'm wearing this belt bag from Hipsters for Sisters Spring-Summer '16 collection because it's light, stylish, and practical for my day-to-day activities.

As a working stay-at-home mom, I'm usually running around with my two-year-old, and this bag is perfect. My phone, cards and cash, a snack, and my new favorite high lustre lip gloss by Au Naturale fit just fine.

Of course, I have a diaper bag as well, but this bag allows me to keep my personal things separate and if I'm at the checkout line, it's super easy for me to grab my cash or card, pay, and go.

Since this is my bag of choice for summer, I'm keeping up with my busy schedule via Google Calendar on my phone, rather than carrying my planner around. It works, and I get tons of compliments on it all the time!"

Thanks for sharing Katie! I have a Hipsters for Sisters (now known as HFS Collective) belt bag too and I adore it!

There's a lot to love about this brand. Founded by a mother daughter team, their bags are designed to free women from their luggage (yay for female empowerment). HFS Collective's bags are all made in Los Angeles, using sustainable and vegan materials such as recycled fibres, organic cotton and natural hemp.
