Like most seeds, sesames are a rich source of protein. In fact, they are 25% protein - which is impressive. They are a good source of Omega 6 and anti-oxidants (sesamin, sesamolin & sesamol) - which are the good oils. That also makes them filling - a good thing for a breakfast food.

Oats are one of our favourite grains, because not only do they taste yum, they help to bind other ingredients in cooking, thanks to their beta-glucan (a soluble fibre which helps to lower cholesterol, but also gives a creamy mouth-feel).  They are high in protein (17%) and fibre (11%), so they're one of the good guys of the breakfast world.
