If this is your first visit to Future King and Queen, you are probably wondering what it's all about? Is it a new royal family?

In a word: no. It's something much more exciting.

FK+Q is an online magazine platform celebrating ethical, conscious + more sustainable living.

There's a growing trend, world-wide, of ethical buying.

We are more discerning about where our food is grown and how our clothes are made. We want household items with a lower environmental impact. We are questioning what chemicals and processes are used to produce the goods we eat, wear and live with.

And we are becoming aware of the importance of compassion in our choices. Most of us love animals. We don't want to see them harmed. So it's a logical step to wonder why we kill them for fashion. (Or turn a blind eye to the realities of factory farming.)

More people are asking if we can do things better - for animals, for people and for the planet.

We believe our daily food, fashion and lifestyle choices do literally create the world we want to live in. So it's not hard to see that we do actually have the power of a King or a Queen.

But where to start if we want to make our lives more compassionate & eco-friendly? We all begin at a different point.

Perhaps you are considering purchasing cosmetics which are not tested on animals, or want to use less toxins in your home. Perhaps you enjoy Meatless Monday each week, or going to the local Farmers Market for fresh, local, organic veggies in season. Perhaps you are vegetarian, or vegan, or simply want to incorporate more of these foods into your diet.

Because the switch to a more compassionate way of consuming is not a black and white thing - it's more of a journey of discovery really - Future King & Queen represents all of us on those steps.

We believe our daily food, fashion and lifestyle choices do literally create the world we want to live in. So it’s not hard to see that we do actually have the power of a King or a Queen.

Knowledge base

Keeping on top of the knowledge of which companies and products to support, and which to avoid, can be time consuming and, quite frankly, exhausting.

Our aim in creating Future King and Queen is to share our own discoveries & hopefully to provide you with a quick resource finder as a result.

“One indication of our rising consciousness is that many practices that we found acceptable in the past are unthinkable today...

150 years ago, slavery was widely accepted by a large number of people around the world...

100 years most people thought it acceptable to deny women the right to vote...

50 years ago, most people accepted racial segregation as a way of life...

40 years ago, few people knew much or cared about environmental issues.”
