The Cellar Door at Barristers Block at Woodside, in the Adelaide Hills, was saved from the encroaching fires, and has re-opened for meals and cellar door sales. Sadly, they have lost all of their vineyard in the Adelaide Hills. Their warehouse was saved however, and they have wine to sell. All of Barristers Block wines have been vegan since 2017.

In the week before Christmas, the horrendous fires which swept through the Adelaide Hils destroyed old vineyards as well as fruit orchards, along with an untolled amount of livestock and native animals. As one of the world’s renowned areas for the production of fine wines, this region is celebrated for the small, family owned vineyards.

Many of these small vineyards are at the forefront of quality vegan-friendly wine production.

Many lost most of their vines, as well as their bottled wines. But they’ll get back on their feet with support from the wine loving public. And we’re especially keen to lend them a supporting hand as they are pioneering new techniques for vegan-friendly wines.

So rather than purchasing wine from a large bottle shop, we urge you to consider purchasing direct from these wineries, where the money can be directly used to replant their vineyards and rebuild the lost buildings.

(All of the wines from the small-scale Adelaide Hills wineries below are vegan.)

ON SATURDAY 21ST DECEMBER 2019 WE THOUGHT VINTELOPER WAS DONE. BUSHFIRE TORE THROUGH 95% OF OUR VINEYARD, AND THE FARM HOUSE.

THEN YOU SPOKE. THROUGH MESSAGES, CALLS, AND BY BUYING OUR WINE.

THE EQUATION FOR US IS SIMPLE. WE CAN NOW REBUILD.

THANK YOU.

A LOT OF OUR EVERYDAY WINES ARE SOLD OUT, BUT THERE ARE A FEW RARE BOTTLES OF THE COLLECTABLE AND TIMELESS ODEON RANGE REMAINING.

THANKS TO YOUR SUPPORT

Virginia has been vegan for more than 2 years, after attending a talk by Phillip Wollen (OAM) when all the lightbulbs suddenly went on! Here was a way to live that touched the earth more lightly, didn't involve harm to animals, and opened the door to a much more healthy lifestyle.
