Fair Fashion Outfit: Colours of Autumn

There's something so majestic about Autumn leaves isn't there? They make you feel playful and spirited, and it's impossible to help yourself from stomping in piles of leaves with a childish grin on your face.

Even though we're now into Winter here in Melbourne, there has still been plenty of sunshine about the place lately, and plenty of golden brown leaves to play in too..

Even my handbag seems to have Autumn vibes about it, with its ochre colour matching those of the golden leaves. It comes from Noah Italian Vegan Shoes, and I'm absolutely smitten with it and its amazing quality.

We shot this outfit in one of our favourite Melbourne suburbs, Northcote, which is home to a wonderful collection of hipster boutique stores, cafes and businesses. Many of them are quite sustainably and ethically minded (which is a big part of why we love them ♡).

One of our go-to destinations in the area is Terre Madre, which is a great place to stock up on (very reasonably priced) organic and bulk/package-free produce.

(Virginia and I are endeavouring to transition more and more towards minimal/'zero waste' living, and are getting ready to ditch single-use plastic for an entire week for Plastic Free July - stay tuned for our story on the challenge) !

Oh and if you happen to find yourself in the area of Northcote, make sure you visit Tahina Bar, because their falafel may just change your life...

Back to this outfit though: I'm wearing vegan and ethically made fashion pieces from around the world; some of them new, and some purchased second hand.

By Henrietta

Henrietta is the 'daughter' half of the Future King & Queen mother-daughter duo, and is the face you'll find in front of a camera. She strives to live gently on this earth, and to make the world a kinder, fairer place.

Henrietta is a recent graduate with a degree in Commerce + a diploma in French, and has a passion for using business skills to drive positive social change. She works in ethical fashion, and is also a model for ethical and sustainably minded brands (drop her a line here if you'd like to work with her).

After being vegetarian for many years, and gradually transitioning towards veganism, she attended a panel discussion 2 years ago on the dairy industry (held by Voiceless). From then on, it made complete sense to commit to a fully vegan lifestyle, as a way of being compassionate towards animals, the environment and people.

It was then a natural progression to consider the impacts of her other daily decisions, and so her interest in ethical fashion and sustainably minded living in general was born.
