Lowdown on the Berlin Ethical Fashion Show 2018

From 3-5th July 2018, the Berlin Ethical Fashion Show will see the city host a series of talks, screenings, workshops, fashion shows and networking events, all centred around ethical and sustainable fashion.

Its international trade fair - the Greenshowroom - will take over Kraftwerk Berlin, and create a hotspot for sustainability and innovation in fashion.

Here are a few exciting events and brands to look out for..

Events

Greenshowroom Selected Fashion Show - a runway show of curated brands exhibiting in the Greenshowroom. Held as part of the July 2018 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. [Tuesday 7pm].

FashionSustain and Fashiontech conference duo - bringing together experts and forward thinkers in the field of sustainable fashion. Will include talks from Vogue India, Veja, GLS bank, C&A Foundation and more. [FashionSustain: Tuesday, Fashiontech: Wednesday].

Prepeek by Fashion Changers - a place for bloggers, influencers and the online fashion community to come together. Looks will be put together from exhibiting labels' collections, which can be tried on and photographed/shared on social media. [11-6pm Tuesday, 10-6pm Wednesday].

Brands Exhibiting in the Greenshowroom: a few of our picks

Timeless, beautiful capsule wardrobe pieces, made from sustainable materials such as organic cotton and modal. Designed in London and made in ISO and GOTS certified factories in Portugal and Turkey.

Streetwear x sustainability. This Swedish brand use fair trade and organic cotton to make creative tees, shirts, hoodies, socks and more. (For men, women, and kids). They've also got beanies from recycled polyester and swim shorts from recycled PET-bottles.

Be prepared for some super fun designs from their team of graphic designers.

Jackets, footwear and accessories made from interesting recycled materials, such as jackets made from recycled ocean waste.

Denim made from GOTS certified organic cotton, with recycled paper patches (making them vegan friendly)!

NAE Vegan Shoes

This Portuguese shoe brand is always experimenting with sustainable materials, such as pinatex (pineapple leather), cork, recycled PET bottles, recycled tyres and microfibre. Their vegan shoes are always excellent quality.

Founded by a 6th generation footwear designer, this German based brand have some sneakers made from interesting, innovative materials, including mushroom leather and wood.
