It’s hard to beat the flakey deliciousness of a freshly baked croissant, so we were determined to find out how to make vegan croissants. We’ve put together a list of the best vegan croissants recipes to try, including our own recipe for vegan croissants, made using homemade vegan butter.

1: Spelt Flour Vegan Croissants and Vegan Pain au Chocolat (Chocolate Croissants)

We're loving making croissants on weekends. Made with refined coconut oil and aquafaba, they are flakey and delicious, but of course it's always good to see what other people are doing, and to compare notes.

This vegan croissant recipe uses spelt flour, as well as homemade vegan butter made from refined coconut oil and aquafaba (chickpea brine) to make these deliciously flakey, dairy-free croissants.

Using almond milk and store-bought vegan butter, this recipe is a little different as it doesn't use the classic rectangle of butter/vegan butter - but incorporates it into the yeast mix with the other ingredients. 

This would make it quicker to make - so we're curious to see if this method produces the same flakey results. It certainly looks very delicious in the photographs!
