Mad City Vegan Fest with Keynote Speaker Neal Barnard, M.D., F.A.C.C.

  • Alliant Energy Center Exhibition Hall 1919 Alliant Energy Center Way Madison WI United States

Mad City Vegan Fest started in 2011, growing each year since to now be triple in size of the inaugral event.

The keynote speaker for 2017 is Dr Neal Barnard, who will be talking about the health benefits of a plant-based diet, and how to "kick the cheese habit".

Neal Barnard, M.D., F.A.C.C., is the president and founder of the nonprofit Physicians Committee, an adjunct associate professor of medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and the founder of Barnard Medical Center, a nonprofit primary care medical center in Washington, D.C.

It is fun to explore plant-based foods and all the health benefits they bring: easy weight loss, better energy, much better health.

International Plant based Nutrition in Health Care Conference (Anaheim)

Annual international conference looking at the ways that modern medicine can be informed by ongoing research into plant based nutrition.

For the first time in human history, people are dependent on medications that typically only address symptoms—not the underlying cause of disease. We’ve become expert in disease management, not in true ‘health’ care where we focus on the art of prevention through plant-based nutrition and inexpensive lifestyle modification. Our current system is rewarding the management of disease, while not rewarding prevention and prescriptions for dietary change. This has to change, because the current model is unsustainable.”
